Back Home!

I loved taking Lisha to Camas,WA where I mostly grew up ;) The last time I had been back was a year and a half ago and what struck me most was how much the trees had grown in my old neighborhood. The Washington I know (on the west-side) is seriously SO lush, green, and beautiful. The weather was terrific most of the time we were there, I was actually a little disappointed it didn't rain more - I was hoping Lisha could have a real Washington vacation.

While we were there WE:
    • Went to the Beach! Lisha thought it was funny that you had to wear a sweatshirt to stay warm at the beach. We took my Granny Joy, who really really enjoyed coming and chatting :)
    • Visited the Portland Temple!
    • Saw my little sister graduate! She is going to attend either BYU Provo or BYU Hawaii (I think she is leaning towards Hawaii?)
    • Hiked to some neat looking waterfalls, I think we went to four. My parents have some good waterfall stamina! I sure had a fun time being back with them and my fam. You don't know how much you miss it till you go back for a little vacation visit.
    • We took care of my little brother Tanner, while my parents and two of my sisters went to Washington DC. He has something like Down Syndrome, he is sure cute. I bonded real quick with him again, he loves that I do tons of different things with him (like Tennis, Golf, Walks, Park, Baseball). He never wants to sit down while he is awake.
For a little baby update, Ian keeps practicing his punches and kicks. Sometimes it moves Lisha's clothes :) The doctor told us that our baby is an active guy which makes me smile and chuckle a little. Whatever personality Ian has, we are thankful and excited to have him coming to our home!

Good news!

So, right after I finished my last post, Matt came home from making some visits for his calling and guess what?!  He got to feel Ian kick!!!  He was able to feel Ian moving and kicking for a while.  So exciting!  I loved the look on Matt's face!  Hahaha!  Anyways, just had to share!

Right On Schedule

We had the big ultrasound today and we are SO excited to announce that we are having a LITTLE BOY!!!!!  It was so fun to see him moving around and how much he's filled out since our first ultrasound.  He has such a cute little face!  He was curled up in a ball during the ultrasound (though he was moving).  We have a picture of our cute baby and you can see his feet up close to his face.  It was so adorable!  And no, I'm not biased.  ;)

Our due date is still right on schedule for October 12th and we just can't wait for little Ian Matthew Schmoldt to be here.  His little body is developing properly and everything was looking great.  We are so blessed!  We're going to put up pics of the ultrasound and my belly as soon as possible, so you'll be able to see our cute little baby.

After our ultrasound, Matt and I went to a baby store in Logan called Stork Landing.  It was so fun to start thinking about what we wanted to get for our baby and to look at baby clothes.  Just thinking about this precious life that will soon enter our lives, I feel so blessed and excited for this experience.

Ian has started kicking harder and it probably won't be long before Matt can feel it.  I'm so excited to share that experience with Matt.  I know it's been incredible for me to be able to feel our baby move, and so I'm very excited for Matt to get that chance.  I already love our little boy and I'm so excited for him to be here!

And So It Begins

Hey everyone!!  So, I decided it was time to jump on the bandwagon of blogging and start our own family page.  I think it will be the easiest way to share the new goings on in our lives.

Matt's and my first anniversary is coming up in a little over a week and we are super excited!!  We can hardly believe it's been that long.  Time really flies!  In the past year, we've lived in three different homes, nine months of which we spent in North Ogden, UT watching over our grandparents' home while they were serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  While we lived there, Matt worked with our uncle, Monty, and I worked at a daycare for three months.  We learned SO much while we lived there, but we're grateful to be back in good old Logan now.

On top of all that fun stuff, we're going to have a baby on October 12th!  We are SOOOO excited for this little one to come into our lives and the new adventures it will bring.  We find out on May 26th what Baby Schmoldt's gender is.  Does anyone have any guesses?  Whatever it will be, we will be perfectly happy.  We think both boys and girls are fun in their own ways, and we'd love to have either one!  A healthy baby is all we hope for.

For the past week and a half, I've been feeling the baby move and kick.  That has been SO exciting!!!  Everything has seemed kind of surreal up to this point, but feeling the baby move has made it very real for me.  I'm getting so excited for this baby to come!

As new things happen, I will try to write about them and keep you posted.  Love you all!!
